Another great photo shoot from Italian Vogue July 2010...

Throughout this photo shoot there is a sense of the strong woman, the style is slick, urban and architectural with an undercurrent of protection...note the veil and leather gauntlet gloves...interesting! I have adapted the images...added photos of italian architecture and office styling to represent the career woman.
Capes will be a definite!! Short, glam, soft shrugs for evening wear to strong, sculptured, bold and  cosy capes  to wrap up in and protect against the elements.
The 1950s silhouette is strong for this season...circle skirts and three quarter lenght hem lines...for  ultimate glamour.

The notion of protection is present here...like the idea of the clear rain shawl and hood...it protects but exposes simultaneously! Over the top belts...popular for the season...thinking of trying to source some vintage belts or even just buckles for styling.
Sculptured curves, i have adapted these silhouettes from View magazine...forecast for A/W 2010/2011...i particularly like the rounded shoulders and bell shaped sleeves...will be incorporating these features into my designs definitely.
I love the ruffle collar on this jacket, very shell like!
