Fashion Shoot 2nd April 2011...

The venue, the Groves in Chester was ideal, the bandstand provided cover from rain but let in plenty of light and the River Dee gave a picturesque setting.   The Hickory Smokehouse bar used for changing was perfect, with a private room and within easy walk of venue (and a lovely lunch afterwards).  If we had better weather and more time we could have used St. Johns ruins and the Grosvenor Park also.

I would definitely use this location again, no costs for room hire! There were some nice deco features inside but the lighting was poor, shame but Steve our photographer captured preparations in full swing.Ideas for poses, mood and backdrop were shared before we started.

Equipment packing included, mending kit, thankfully not needed, pins, pegs for alterations and tucks also amazingly not needed, thanks to the perfect models Chloe and Hannah! Plenty of tights, tape and lint rollers are always a good idea. Accessories, new and vintage and of course the all important garments.

Claire set to on the hair and make-up...

Steve got busy with some test shots of Chloe and grappled with poor light and windy conditions!!

We brought along a folding chair, some fizz, glasses and cloths to add a little entertainment to the story of our narrative shots. Oh yes and male model Oscar to serve and dance!

Some dancing shots to show movement and fluidity of the evening skirt...

Love these sitting poses...although the blowy weather kept catching the skirt...

Adding further vintage accessories adds a touch of style...a suggestion of travel maybe...

Some photos for model portfolios of Chloe and Hannah ...stunning!

These are but a few of many....some bits of editing to do and these will form part of my design portfolio. I will choose 2 shots to stand alone and work others into montage boards,  soon to be posted!  Everyone worked really hard on the day, a huge THANK YOU to Hannah and Chloe for getting up so early and putting up with the miserable weather, hope you enjoyed it otherwise, also to Steve for travelling a long way very early on your only day off in ages and for doing such a professional job on the day, to Claire for fab hair and makeup and moral support, to Oscar for being a brill roadie and model and also for dragging himself out of bed after a very long term.  LETS DO IT AGAIN!!!
